7 Small Things That Create Major Success

I am constantly searching for ways to improve my performance both as an individual and as an entrepreneur, because obviously, they are interconnected.

So the other day, I was watching some videos of my mentor and taking some notes, and I was able to come up with these steps from his video.

Each of these items are very easy to do, but what’s easy to do, is also easy not to do.  Let’s get into it…

1. Writing Down Your Goals

Every successful person I’ve ever read about, listened to, or spoken to has said this, so it is no secret that it is number one on the list. When you live a life without goals you focus on every petty worry, fear, problem, or difficulty that you encounter. Thos negative thoughts dominate your life, and in many cases, become central to your very being.

Regardless of what you do for a living, I hope that you have a goal that you are aspiring to reach. Here is the order of which you should be writing your goals:

  • Daily
  • Weekly
  • Monthly
  • Annual

Of course, you could add 5 and 10-year goals as well, but it’s important to start small.

Your goals serve as a written list of what you will do and as a compass during your journey to whatever success means to you. If you can’t make one day go right, how can you make a year go right.  As my mentor states, “the power to take action is predicated on what I see”, so it’s important to have a constant view of what I am working towards in life and in business.

The reason most people are “fighting” to get to their goal is because they can’t see themselves there. Before you can have the expensive car, you must go drive the expensive car. Before you can live in the fancy home, you must go see and experience the fancy home. Before you can have the beautiful body, you must envision the beautiful body.

Your goals are the blueprints for your future, so without them, you have no plan to get where it is that you want to go. Every leader sets goals, and whether its business or your family, you must become a leader in order to have a prosperous business or relationship.

Make sure you set your environment up for success by putting your goals all around you so that you will have a clear picture of where you are going.

2. The Right Words Give Me Access

The bottom line is this – what you say is what you get. That is why affirmations, when done often, consistently, and with the right emotions, are so powerful.

See, life and death are in the power of the tongue; your words have the power to create, or to destroy. That’s why so much emphasis is placed on changing the way you think. Your thoughts dictate what you say; what you say creates what you have.

Now, I am not a very religious person in any sense of the word. However, I do believe that every religious book contains valuable insight into how we should live and treat each other.

In saying that, most religious books that I’ve read state that we are created in the image and likeness of our creator. The creator (according to the Bible) created by the words that were spoken. Well, if we are created in the image and likeness of the creator, and creation is a result of the word, then it makes sense that I should have the same power.

As such, the only way that I can program my mind is through the words that I read, hear, and most importantly, speak. So I have to sensor my thoughts, because my thoughts lead to the words I speak, which lead to the actions I take, which lead to the results that I get. My mentor says that the WORD in my life is the god in my life.

So I consistently work on speaking (confessing) what I desire in my life and tending to the fertile soil in my mind so that I can eat of the fruit that I desire in my life.

3. Asking the Right Questions

You’ve heard the phrase, “there is no stupid question”, right? Well, I believe that the stupid questions are those that are left un-asked.

Asking questions reveal humility. It identifies you as a protege, or someone who is willing to learn. My mentor says that questions host answers on the earth. In saying that, the quality of my life will be determined by the questions that I ask.

As a person who has achieved what many believe is one of the highest levels of education, my entire body of work in the area of research was based on my ability to ask the right questions. Unfortunately, many believe that asking questions is a sign of weakness. To the contrary, its a sign of wisdom, and is admission that you are thirsty for more knowledge.

Want to be successful? Ask questions of those who have what it is that you desire. It’s one of the greatest ways to learn.

4. Monitor Your Morning Routine

What is the first thing that you do when you wake up in the morning? Do you check social media? Do you check text messages? Do you see how much engagement you have on a post?

The first thing that I do is GIVE THANKS!! Gratitude is the gateway to abundance. So I make sure that I at least say thank you for another day. This is major; what I do first determines what God/the Universe does second. I was taught that whoever I want more from, give more appreciation to. It’s the law of reciprocity.

5. Follow Instructions

This is so simple, yet so profound. A key to success, especially in my area of business (trading & investing, network marketing) is following certain steps. If I want to execute a trade properly, it’s important that I follow my trading plan. If I don’t get all of my confirmations, I don’t take the trade. It’s that simple!

But remember what we said earlier – what’s easy to do, is also easy not to do. Ask yourself – what instructions are you not following? Take a long hard look at your life and find out where you might be dropping the ball. That area may be the key to getting to the next level in your life and/or your business.

6. Moments

Another simple, yet profound area. Every pain that you’ve experienced (outside of a physical pain) can probably be traced back to a moment where you lacked the ability to discern. I know mine can.

See, time is a distributed in moments. Every moment that you encounter is an opportunity to make a decision. Choose wisely – your decisions dictate your results, because our life is a sum total of the decisions that we’ve made up to this point.

7. Your Expectations

When I attend personal growth and self-development programs or seminars, I always set an expectation of what I want to get from the event. I do that so that I am intentional with the way I pay attention to the speakers.

It’s so important that you do everything with the right expectations. Personally, I expect what the creator says about me to come true. The word says that I can have all things if I believe. I am trusting for this word to come true! What do I have to lose?

The Universe/God grants you what you ask for every time. The challenge for most people is that they lack patience. See, time is the enemy of expectation. If it’s “taking too long”, we often start to doubt, and the opposite of expectation is doubt. When you doubt, you block the delivery of what the universe has already sent your way. This further delays your promises.

ALL OF THIS HAS TO DO WITH WHAT I AM SAYING AND WHAT I AM HEARING. The wrong word can cause me to miss a moment, or lose focus, or doubt, or do anything that is contrary to your goals.

I hope you were able to get some value from this post, and I hope that you get the desires of your heart. I truly believe that you deserve it!
